Academic structure
The M.Tech programme follows a structured progression that builds strong foundations before moving into advanced specialisation and research.
- Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
- Credit structure: A total of 62 credits across coursework, projects and research components.
- Programme progression: Taught coursework is delivered in semesters 1 and 2. Semesters 3 and 4 focus on project work, seminars, internship and thesis.
Eligibility and admission
- Admission to the M.Tech programme is open to candidates who meet the University’s postgraduate eligibility criteria.
- Applicants must have completed a full-time undergraduate degree from a recognised university or institution with a minimum aggregate of 60% or an equivalent grade.
- Admissions are conducted through Mahindra University’s postgraduate admissions process. Selection criteria and programme-specific requirements are available on individual programme pages.
Fee structure (per annum):
The M.Tech fee structure outlines academic and residential costs based on the mode of admission.
GATE route admission
- Academic fees: ₹1,00,000 per annum
- Refundable caution deposit: ₹20,000
GATE-qualified students admitted through this route are offered a teaching assistantship, which includes:
- A stipend of ₹18,000 per month
- Free boarding and lodging
Non-GATE route admission
- Academic fees: ₹1,00,000 per annum
- Hostel charges (boarding and lodging): ₹2,10,000 per annum
- Refundable caution deposit: ₹20,000
- For non-GATE candidates, a limited number of teaching assistantships may be offered based on performance in the admission test and interview, subject to recommendation by the University PG Admissions Committee.
